Anita Patil Deshmukh |
|
|
Dr Anita Patil-Deshmukh is the executive Director
of PUKAR and she brings a wide variety of talents and expertise to
the organization.
A physician by profession, Anita received her
Masters in Public Health from Harvard University and worked as a
faculty Neonatologist in a teaching institution in Chicago for 20
years.

During her tenure she was also the Director of
the Pediatric Residency programme and Director of Continuous Medical
Education for the Department of Pediatrics.
During her stay in the USA she played a major leadership role within India Development Service (IDS) a pioneer organization in United States which supported multiple, small scale, socio-economic development projects across India.
During her voluntary tenure at IDS, she returned to India each year to visit, evaluate and learn from the projects IDS supported. She organized many important seminars in Chicago on developmental issues and helped build links between several philanthropic initiatives and leaders in India and the United States. Anita relocated back to India in 2005 to contribute to the developmental sector and currently she is also the Senior Advisor for India China Institute (The New School, NY). |

Rahul Srivastava |
|
|
Rahul Srivastava is based in Goa where he writes
and does research on urban issues. He has studied anthropology at
Mumbai, Delhi and Cambridge (UK). He has written on cities, tribal
histories and popular culture and also writes fiction for young
readers.He has worked extensively with urban heritage movements.

As the co - director of PUKAR, Mumbai, he conceived the Neighbourhood Project which worked with students and civic groups to produce intimate portraits of the city based on local histories, family narratives and biographies. |

Ishwar Solankii |
|
|
Ishvar Solanki works with PUKAR as an accountant. He has been working in the field of accounts for 30 years. He has worked with Chartered Accountants, Tax consultants, trading firms, Manufacturing units, and also worked with various NGOs - The Hunger Project for 17 years, Swayam Shikshan Prayog for 3 years; Rotary Club of Bombay downtown for 3 years and Handspun for Urban Market for 5 years. |

Girish Menon |
|
|
|
 |
Girish Menon works part-time with PUKAR in the capacity of a Studio
Coordinator. He is a Physics Graduate from the University of Mumbai.
Girish came into PUKAR for the first time as a participant in the
DOC-SHOP that was conducted in 2003. |

|
|
He has done freelance design, photography, film and website
assignments for NGOs like United Way Mumbai, Life Trust, Childline
etc. His articles and photos about Mumbai and historical sites in
India have been published in popular magazines – both in India and
abroad. He spends all of his time outside PUKAR pursuing fine-art
photography. |

Usha Galia |
|
Usha Galia has done her B. Com. from University of Mumbai, and a diploma in computer programming at NIIT. She has been working in the field of accounts for 20 years. She has worked with Chartered Accountants, trading firms, and also with The Hunger Project which is an international trust. She assists in maintaining accounts at PUKAR. |

Anil Kumar Valmiki |

|
Anil Kumar Valmiki is the Office Cordinator at PUKAR. He has completed his SSC and a basic diploma course in computers from NIIT. He hails from Bareilley, UP and has been in Mumbai for over four years. |
