Then they came for my jeans….
(12 minutes)

This audio documentary raises questions about the dress codes being imposed on college students in various universities. The documentary is intended to be used as a starting point for discussions in colleges.

The documentary is located in the broader context of the Gender & Space project; which seeks to explore the ways by which women experience public spaces, accessing them against all odds, transforming the very nature of urban life in the process. It was funded by the Indo-Dutch Programme for Alternative Development.

‘English Jyaada Talking’
(20 minutes)

This audio documentary was an outcome of the PUKAR Monsoon 2004, based on the theme ‘Language and the City’; which focused on Mumbai’s linguistic diversity. The workshops examined the spontaneous translations, skilful use of multiple languages and the constant creation of new words and concepts that characterize the city’s routine responses to its varied linguistic world.

These audio documentaries are available at the PUKAR office for a small donation.
